Intervention Proposal
PSY FPX 8711 Assessment 4 In contemporary organizational environments, fostering a sense of inclusiveness has been essential to preserve productivity and staff well-being. This proposal aims to present a strategy for intervention that is crafted to enhance diversity management and the effectiveness of leaders in the workplace.
Understanding the Need
With multicultural working environments being the norm in the current era, successful leadership demands a respectful appreciation of various perceptions and cultures. A study conducted by Aritz and Walker (2014) emphasizes the necessity of adapting divergent leadership styles in multicultural groups to optimize cooperation and performance. Similarly, studies conducted by Stoermer et al. (2016) emphasize the effect of national culture on inclusion climate as the motivation behind the necessity for culturally responsive interventions.
Proposed Intervention
The proposed intervention entails some key aspects:
•• Leadership Development: According to insights by Gemeda and Lee (2020), the intervention will offer leadership development that is responsive to addressing the diverse needs and cultural diversity in the organization. The training will focus on building the multicultural competency of leaders, emotional intelligence (Drogas & Papoutsi, 2018), and transformational leadership (Steinmann et al., 2018).
• 360-Degree Feedback: Utilizing a 360-degree feedback system, as advocated by Garavan et al. (1997), will facilitate comprehensive performance evaluation and encourage accountability and sustainable improvement.
• Cultural Awareness Workshops: Organizing seminars and workshops on multicultural competence, as encouraged by Kite (2015), will develop cross-cultural competence and promote inclusivity in the workplace.
•PSY FPX 8711 Assessment 4 Structured Interviewing: Adding structured interviewing techniques, as encouraged by the Public Service Commission of Canada (2009), will help remove unconscious biases from the recruitment and selection process.
• Post-Training Evaluation Plan: Following Kirkpatrick and Kirkpatrick (2013) approach, the intervention will also have an efficient post-training evaluation plan to check how effective the selected interventions are, as well as to pinpoint areas that need further improvement.
Conclusion
In conclusion, this intervention proposal offers a multi-dimensional solution to enhancing diversity management and leadership effectiveness within the organization. Through the development of an inclusive culture and equipping leaders with skills and awareness, the proposed intervention aims to enhance organizational success in the more diverse workplaces of today.
