Introduction
PSY FPX 6710 Assessment 3 Coaching plans are formal business strategies to enable associates to build in their work. Here there is a necessity to develop a coaching plan to equip U.S. food company executives to take overseas assignments in East Asia where they will manage multicultural teams in the new industry. None of the executives has any experience with overseas assignments. This paper will provide a China business cultural norms plan in business culture, leadership and coaching style, interview questions and answers, and male and female executive interview transcripts.
China Business Cultural Norms
China’s business cultural norms differ from those of the United States on a number of parameters. Among the most significant parameters is the manner in which “Guanxi” has been conceptualized so that one must provide opportunities and offer personal favors for reciprocity. Although common in China, such an act can be viewed as bribing or giving favoritism in America. Chinese business relationships also characteristically include formal and polite behavior compared to American settings where a bold, celebratory atmosphere can be witnessed. Gift presentation, being punctual, greeting, dressing, and communication practices are some other aspects that play a part in honoring Chinese business culture.
Leadership Approach
The leadership style applied is transformational leadership, and its purpose is to empower the associates to maximize their potential. Transformational leadership has four attributes: idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individual consideration. The application of transformational leadership has the objective of removing any fear of the executives for the new roles and building confidence to overcome obstacles.
Coaching Approach
The coaching strategy supports the adoption of technology, specifically remote coaching, to aid in communication and feedback. Remote coaching via Zoom or similar platforms is convenient and enables collaboration between members who operate from different geographical locations. Cross-training in a multicultural setting also guarantees that executives understand the Chinese business culture, which leads to successful working relationships and cultural awareness.
Interview Questions
Interview questions are planned to determine applicants’ knowledge of diversity, inclusion, leadership, and cultural sensitivity. Open-ended questions solicit experiential feedback that guarantees compliance with business goals and cultural sensitivities.
Transcripts
PSY FPX 6710 Assessment 3 American executives’ and a Chinese manager’s transcripts, emphasizing cultural protocol and workplace conversation.
Test for Understanding
Instituting a 360 Feedback system facilitates performance and behavior analysis in depth encompassing all employees. This practice facilitates cultural adaptation and adherence to quality management standards.
Conclusion
The East assignment coaching method employs research-based evidence for creating effective strategies that equip executives with China assignment readiness. Regardless of Chinese corporate culture gender disparities, transformational coaching seeks to ready all executives for success with focus on leadership and culture awareness.
