Healthcare Marketing in the United States
BUS FPX 4124 Assessment 1 The health care marketing has evolved into a key business assignment within the US distribution system for the health care industry. This report outlines the evolution of the health care marketing, the role of competition in the evolution and its integration into an existing management role at the Accesspoint Community Health Center.
History & Evolution of Healthcare Marketing
Marketing, mainly an American innovation, has seen extensive evolution with contemporary uses. Natively a part of sales jargon during the 1910s, health care marketing developed in the 1950s. Post-World War II, the United States had caught an infection of consumer-controlled economics with introduced income and introduction of consumer credit (Thomas, 2015). Subsequently, consumers gained the privilege to pick products and services as per their individual needs. The 1970s witnessed the need for secure payment systems and health care services, and more competition among hospitals.
It needs strategic communication to market services and bring in patients. With employers and consumers who became the purchaser of the health care system, health organizations developed a business -minded attitude, and gave rise to managed care and capitulated payments (Thomas, 2015). A service economy controlled by the market took place at the close of the twentieth century, whereas technology time commenced in the early 2000s, so that patients could browse and purchase health-related products over the internet. The advent of Electronic Health Records (EHRS) facilitated the patient’s interaction to be more practically with healthcare professionals, propelling demand for health services (Thomas, 2015).

Factors Leading to Acceptance
One of the significant impacts that help promote the acceptance of marketing as a critical function within the health care system is the introduction of social media and applying it for the purposes of social marketing. Social marketing works towards affecting marketing theory, abilities and social changes, advancing general health, raising awareness and encouraging behavior changes (CDC, 2021). With the application of social media enables organizations to engage the public, share information and intervention. The consumers, unlike consumers of other services and goods, tend to remain unaffiliated with price information as a result of special financing system in the health service industry (Thomas, 2015).
Real-World Application
Marketing is significant in my work as invoicing manager at the Accession Community Health Center. As a Federal Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and non-for-profit organization, Axesspointe is committed to public health and offers low service, community search and financial assistance. The National Committee for the Quality Association (NCQA) utilizes a number of communications, including patient -focused medical home (PCMH), to promote more services in medical, dental health, and behavioral health. This outreach strategy is for the patient to become more aware and increasing patient population won by access points.
Conclusion
Healthcare Marketing has formulated nearly non-existent ideas for a foregone device for dispensing health services in the United States. Social media sites and the dawn of the Internet era have significantly influenced this formulation. With the use of social marketing, organizations efficiently permit services and capture a wide patient population.
